 The
Bob Moyer Big Band has its roots in the work of a group of musicians who
began the orchestra as the Hobby Band in 1951. In 1965, Bob Moyer and
Allan Muirhead decided to rejuvenate the band under the name Jubilee Big
Band, in honour of the city of Regina's Diamond Jubilee. The band adopted
its current name in 1986 in honour of long time director Bob Moyer.
