Here are some random comments I got in my email box.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++I had such a great time at the Flatland festival this year. Thanks to all the organizers for a job well done. Special thanks to the tech crew who helped all the performers set up and feel comfortable with the stage set up. I know they helped me to relax before my set. I had a blast performing!
-Lisa Toth +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Thanks again for your tireless efforts on the Flatlands site. We really appreciate the exposure you gave EPEK Percussion. I look forward to working with you again next year(??).
Regards, Ed Peck +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hi Terry, You did a wonderful job on the flatland website. It really made all the difference in the overall exposure of sask artists. Thank you for all your efforts.
Catherine Kossatz +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Terry Congratulations on a great web site for the 2002 FMF. Will you be posting the remainder of Sunday's pictures for those of us who were unable to catch the live feed? Many thanks Rod Milton, Ontario +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hello terry,
cant say enough, still reeling =)
-- Best regards, skarecrow +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Dear CBC (and Regina) Just wanted to send greetings and smiles from Norway and thank you for broadcasting the Flatland Music Festival through the internet. I had the great pleasure of visiting Regina and Canada for the first time last summer when I visited my friend Donna, and I had such a wonderful time in your city and country. Enjoyed amongst other things the Dragon Boat Festival, the Folk Festival, and of course your friendliness and warmth. Wish I could be in Sascatchewan this summer too, but this year I cannot afford it. Hope to come back soon though, as I liked it very much. It is therefore nice being able to get a glimpse of Regina and listen to the music through your broadcast. Wonderful :-) Best wishes and rememberance, Espen Skjoldal, Norway
PS: It is night here in Norway - it is soon 01:30AM - but now Arcadia came on stage and they sound very nice - guess I will wait going back to bed. :-) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ hello flatlanders, this is shane from sturgis trash. we wanted to send a note and express our apreciation for the volunteers and the praise for the sound and stage crew, which gave the festival smoothness and dynamic sound which impressed listeners and fellow musicians. we appreciate all the effort put in and look forward to next years festival to rock their socks off again sincerly STURGIS TRASH +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ i just finished watching sweetsalt perform via the live webcast. i live in bc canada, dont really get the chance to see them very often (last time was over a year ago), but after watching them at flatland, it reminded me how amazing they are live! thanks for having the webcast and letting me be at the show in a way :)
Jena +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ WOW!
hello to my fellow flatlanders - i stumbled across your live feed over my morning coffee this morning - i have just heard talisman for the first time - TERRIFIC STUFF! it's sunday morning at 10 o'clock where i am living in hong kong and i'm stoked to have arrived in time for the saturday night bands.
though we've got lots going on in asia, there is a dire shortage of live music and today i have a private concert blasting through my flat. we could use some great tunes like these around this town. i'm feeling my prairie pride! they can't even say SASKATCHEWAN here, much less Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
it would be groovy to invite some friends over, but my place is just a bit too small. it's definitely time to get home for a holiday soon to catch up with friends and family.
SASKATCHEWAN SUMMERS ROCK!
just want to let you know that in my choice between virgin radio (london) which i usually listen to, and flatland music festival YOU WIN!

i grew up at pike lake, got my bachelor of science in home economics ('84) at the u of s and now i have my own marketing business in china - not bad for a farm girl!
ps - you can bet i will be doing some dancing around here today - i'm so glad i bought that amp for my laptop! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hi everyone! checking out the live webcast, because we couldn't make it there this year. Nice job everyone. The performances are stellar, the production is top notch, and the sun is hot, even through my computer screen. All the best wishes and support from Radio306.com! Rich Embury +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hey there - just tuned in to catch a most excellent internet broadcast!! Gotta love this technology that makes this kind of stuff possible. A big shout-out to the band REAL from Mark, Lisa and Alex !! Rock on !!! Mark +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ hi, really appreciate the live feeds and the photos. moved from regina a year ago and this is like being home again. one thing that would be appreciated is a few photos of the crowd. thanks again.
Myles S +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ RE: Sparkey Show Saw your show on the web.Way to go it was great!

This was all of the feedback from my email and it is pretty much in order and as you can tell unedited. Why take away the charm of such great feedback. Thanks for all the feedback.

Well the Flatland Music Festival version 7.0 is now officially complete. The rain is falling outside my window and I am glad the rain arrived after we finished and completed probably the most successful Flatland Music Festival so far. Every year the Monday after the festival is a little sad. Why sad you may ask? Well Victoria Park goes back to being the place to enjoy a lunch break instead of the showcase for great Saskatchewan talent. Thank you to everyone, putting on a festival like this is a tremendous task and I believe thank you is not said enough. Sponsors, performers, volunteers and the fans who come out and enjoy possibly my favourite three days of the year thank you, thank you, thank you.
We will see you in 2003!!! Peace.....

What a total blast, people! Part of the success of a festival is due to the people who create the festival; part of the success of a festival is due to the performers who give their all. But it's the audience that really brings it all together for me. And this afternoon's set was a complete and total 100% bona fide coolness event that really made this the smoking event I knew it would be. Thanks SRIA and thanks Flatland people. A performer couldn't ask for a better situation than this!!! Hey, even my budz in various parts of North America thought the live feed was fantastic. This year was coolness exemplified for sure. :-)

It was absolutely awesome, fun and orgasmic. a few technical difficulties we could have done without. but all in all it was better than a stick in the eye. its awesome that they will let the most unprofessional band in regina play the most organized festival in sask. thanx and we hope to play again soon. thanx to everyone that helped out with the festival. i'm sure we will be embarasing ourselves in a town near you. touring aug.-sept. album out mid august. take it easy and if shes easy take her twice. jim

Back here in the tent where all the performers check in, things are running pretty smoothly, and the night is almost over. So far everyone has arrived on time, ready to perform, and done a great job! Lots of media on site and a nice crowd in the park for a beautiful summer evening. Looking forward to a hot day tomorrow with some awesome rock and pop artists, capped off by Wide Mouth Mason. The food is great and the beer is cold...what more could you ask for?
See ya tomorrow.

I just finished my set at the Flatland Music Festival. WHAT AN AWESOME EVENT!!!! THE SOUND, THE LIGHTS, THE PEOPLE, THE VOLUNTEERS, THE PROFESSIONALISM HERE....INCREDIBLE! I am still on a bit of a performance high, but what an incredible experience it was! I feel like I have passed a test, and had cheat notes! The audience was very supportive, and seemed to enjoy things. The guys who backed me up were TOP NOTCH.
Gotta go, people actually want to meet me....I hope I don't dissapoint them.
All the best, thanks to everyone at SRIA. You guys are the reason I am still in Saskatchewan doing music.

I just finished a set at the Flatlands festival. Great show! I was asked at the last minute to replace Mishi Donovan. So no time to think about the set; just time to get up and enjoy playing. The audience is very attentive and tuned into the music; I've already hooked up with a few musicians and talked shop: Earl Pereira from Wide Mouth Mason, Jeremy Lane, etc. So I'll just keep scratching the mosquito bites til they're soothed and hopefully hear back from some people during the weekend (or at www.listentoleonard.com) about what they thought of the show. Felt great from my end. So back to the merch tent where I'll be working all weekend. Carrie

Welcome to the Flatland Music Festival 2002 Blogger! Isn't it great that Saskatchewan has such a dedicated team of professionals working together to further promote the excellent talent we have in this province? I think we should all give a rousing round of cyber-applause to the people at SRIA who have worked relentlessly this year, as well as in past years, to create a forum that spotlights the musicians in Saskatchewan. Lord knows that for all our soft spoken and unassuming ways, people in Saskatchewan are the innovators of so many things in the world and always have been. This festival is a great way to discover more of what makes Saskatchewan talent the "tour de force" it already is.
